The driver of the Corvette was killed in the wreck, while the driver of the SUV did not suffer any injuries. No one else was hurt in the wreck, and the police are investigating the incident.

There are very few details available in this crash, which will inevitably lead to speculation about why it happened or what caused the wreck. However, before we get to that, let’s highlight the importance of the investigation after a car accident. These investigations will ultimately determine who was at fault for the wreck (may it be a sole party or multiple parties), which can be used to support any civil claims that the accident victims may make.

Remember, though, that no matter how “simple” you may think your accident is; and no matter how “clear” it may seem to you that the other person is at fault; the investigation into a crash rarely is that simple or clear. The police need to take their time and recover a lot of evidence. It can take days, if not weeks, for you investigation to be complete, which can be frustrating to some accident victims. Being patience is important during these times.

Specific to this crash, the police will try to figure out what the drivers were doing prior to their crash. Were they obeying street signals? Were they driving recklessly? Was either driver distracted at the time of the crash? The answers to these questions will play heavily into the investigation.
