Have you been drinking? Your bag of chips may know.

Over 100 million Americans will sit down (or stand, or pace around nervously) and watch the Super Bowl this Sunday.

While not yet a national holiday, Super Bowl Sunday does tend to be an annual reminder to football fans and others not to drink and drive.

To help keep drivers and pedestrians safe, the chip maker Frito-Lay is rolling out a high-tech Tostitos bag that will let you know if you've imbibed too much beer (or whatever the alcoholic drink of choice) and remind you not to drink and drive.

The bag will come with a built-in sensor and warning lights, prominently displaying a flashing red steering wheel with the words "don't drink and drive" emblazoned beneath it, according to the Chicago Tribune.

In addition to the high-tech bag, Tostitos will be offering $10 off of taxi rides for the first 25,000 participants, by including a scannable bar-code on the back of all chips bags.

The fight against drunk driving

Frito-Lay, the Pepsi subsidiary behind Tostitos, has teamed up with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) for the $10 promotion, in a concentrated effort to reduce instances of drunk driving following the country's most recognized sporting event.

In addition to the coupon, Tostitos is equipping the bag with near field communication (NFC) technology, which allows consumers to tap their phone to the bag and request a ride.

Forty-five people were killed in drunk driving instances on February 1, 2015, according the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

According to Frito-Lay, the goal is to remove 25,000 vehicles from roads on the day of the big game, instead encouraging viewers and customers to ride share, use a taxi, or walk.
