Placer County bus accident leaves 2 children hurt

Injuries to Children,Our Blog | August 23, 2014

There is no question that school buses play an important role in transporting children throughout Placer County, California. Unfortunately, as is the case with any other motor vehicle on the road, there is the possibility that a school bus could be involved in a collision with another automobile. This was the case earlier this month in a Sacramento area community.

According to California Highway Patrol, the incident happened shortly before 7 a.m. when a car struck the bus head-on. Following the incident the driver of the car that hit the bus was arrested under suspicion of driving drunk.

Sometimes accidents where alcohol is believed to play a role result in serious injuries to those involved such as broken bones, spinal injuries and traumatic brain injuries. In the worst cases death is the end result. In these circumstances parents of the injured children may decide to file a personal injury lawsuit against the negligent driver.

This crash could have been much worse. It is unclear if either of the drivers were hurt in the incident but at least two occupants of the bus were injured as a result of the collision. Those individuals, both children, suffered injuries characterized as minor. This does not necessarily mean that t he children involved are completely out of harm’s way. That is because in some situations it can take a few days for the injuries to completely appear. Accordingly, it is likely that parents of the children involved will continue to monitor their children’s health.
