Motorcycle accident leads to 1 death, 1 injury

Two teenagers recently were involved in a single-vehicle accident in California when their motorcycle collided with a tree. The driver of the bike died, while his passenger suffered injuries. This motorcycle accident naturally can leave the parents engulfed in grief and desperate for answers regarding the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

The driver of the motorcycle was 18 years old. According to police, his passenger was a teenage girl. The driver died at the scene of the accident, while the passenger was transported to a hospital with injuries. Her condition was listed as critical.

Police said the motorcyclist might have been driving at 100 mph before striking the tree. Authorities had to close down both the southbound and northbound lanes in the area of the accident to investigate. This accident, which occurred in the afternoon, was the second deadly motorcycle crash to take place in the area of Sacramento in a two-day period. In the earlier case, a man passed away when his bike collided with a car.

The family of the injured teenage passenger may choose to file a wrongful death claim for financial damages with respect to medical bills and other costs occasioned by the California motorcycle accident. The suit may be filed against the teenager and any separate owner of the bike. Speeding, particularly at 100 mph, may be deemed negligent or reckless driving. If it can be established that negligent driving led to the accident, the family of the injured passenger might be entitled to the reimbursement of any financial losses sustained as a result of the crash.
