Fatal car accident may have been caused by speeding in California

People often enjoy speeding because of the adrenaline rush it provides. This adrenaline rush may help to relax the body and relieve stress. However, speeding on a roadway can end up causing more stress than what one bargained for -- by causing serious injuries or even death. This is the situation that two people faced in a recent car accident in California.

In this situation, three people were riding in a speeding vehicle. The automobile ended up crashing into multiple parked vehicles. It then turned over and came to a stop in a family's backyard.

A 33-year-old female passenger was ejected from the automobile and died at the scene of the crash. The 23-year-old driver also passed away as a result of the crash, while a 16-year-old boy suffered injuries and was taken to the hospital. Police said that speed appeared to be a causal factor in the accident. The incident occurred during the night hours, and it was not immediately known if alcohol played a role in the fatal accident.

If it is confirmed that the driver caused the crash, his legal estate may face legal challenges in the form of a wrongful death lawsuit. This is because the family members of the woman who died in the crash may choose to file a claim, seeking financial damages that can help with end-of-life expenses, funeral costs and other damages tied to the crash. The family of the injured boy also might choose to file a personal injury lawsuit in this car accident case. Proof that the driver was speeding, which may be considered negligent driving, might be used to try to establish financial liability in a civil court in California.
